The venue for this meeting was in Singapore, both the leaders, Trump and Kim made their presence on global media present at the venue. Came together and shook hands in front of the media.

The purpose is to have detailed talks about ways to end the nuclear stand-off between both the states, and how they can come to a productive solution that is favor of both the states. Only a couple of months ago, both the leaders were exchanging harsh comments on each other. Within a few months, both the hostile leader changed their tone and are now coming under a single agreement which could end the risks of a potential nuclear war between both the states.

In President Trump’s tweets, he indicated that summit preparations were “going well and quickly”.

“We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen,” he tweeted.

Pointing at the recent release of three American hostages and Pyongyang´s pledge to refrain from further nuclear or missile tests, Trump charged that “these pundits, who have called me wrong from the beginning, have nothing else they can say!”

“We will be fine!” he tweeted.

Reuters, Russian Media TV said: “Trump and Kim were confident but body language revealed nerves at first meeting. In their first moments of meeting each other, US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un both sought to project a sense of command as they began a historic summit in Singapore, according to a body language expert.”

Managing Director of Singapore-headquartered Influence Solutions, said the first 60 seconds showed both leaders seeking to take charge in their encounter. These observations were taken after the close inspection of both the leader during the brief appearance on the International Media.

“Their handshake seems to be between peers,” she said.

“Trump seemed to be very aware of this, that he needed to up the stakes and be seen that he is the leader.”

So far the Election Commission of Pakistan has not submitted any report of the current list of names of the candidates which was supposed to be submitted on the same day.

Provincial election commissioner Yousaf Khattak said that by June 10, 36 forms for the reserved seats for women in the National Assembly, 124 for the same in the Sindh Assembly and 73 for the reserved seats for minorities in both the assemblies were submitted to ECP.

Towards the end of the submission, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, All Pakistan Muslim League chief General (retd) Pervez Musharraf were few of the names in the ones filing for election.

Shahbaz Sharif has submitted his form for three NA constituencies: NA-248 (West-I), NA-249 (West-II) and NA-250 (West-III). Musharraf will contest the elections from the NA-247 (South-II).

According to the reports from the ECP, the scrutiny of the papers of the nominations will start today (12th June) and will end on the 19th June.

The last date to move the appellate tribunal is June 27. The revised list will be issued on June 28. The last date for withdrawal of the nomination is June 29. The election symbols will be allotted on June 30.

These so-called heavyweight matches are will be the talk of the town for very long consisting the NA-247 constituency which covers areas such as Burns Road, Saddar, Civil Lines and Clifton, is considered to be a witness to a heavyweight match.

Musharraf, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) PIB Colony faction chief Farooq Sattar, the MQM-P Bahadurabad group’s Nasreen Jalil, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Arif Alvi, Pak Sarzameen Party chief Mustafa Kamal, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and social activist Jibran Nasir are contesting for the constituency.

Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has submitted his form for contesting for the NA-246 (South-I) constituency, which covers his party’s strongholds of Lyari and Garden.

PTI chief Imran Khan has submitted his form for contesting for the NA-243 (East-II) constituency, which covers Gulshan-e-Iqbal and some parts of Jamshed Quarters.

Khadija Siddiqui, a 21-year-old law student in Lahore, was savagely stabbed 23 times in broad daylight on a busy road in May 2016. The attacker, Shah Hussain, was found guilty in 2017, and was served a seven-year sentence on July 29, 2017, for attempted murder, but he was subsequently acquitted by Lahore’s High Court on June 4, 2018, by Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem, in a session only fifteen minutes long.

In this video, not once did he say that he DID NOT stab Khadija, He is just trying to convince the media that Khadija was desperate to marry him. He also claimed that he was pressurized to do so by the families involved. In this desperate attempt, he wanted media to give his point of view as well to the viewers as well. He claims that there is a propaganda against him created by Khadija Siddiqi as he rejected her proposal.

Argentinian football team summoned more courage for Palestine than the so-called leaders of Islamic world. The south American football team which is famous all over the world has demonstrated their love for humanity, while the leaders of the Arab world are having secret diplomacy with the Jewish state. This is sad and hopeful at the same time. Since the decision President Donald Trump took for move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, hundreds of people have been killed, and thousands injured by the border conflicts between the Jewish forces and Muslims fighting for their rights on the Gaza belt. This ongoing conflict has a history of several decades, and no end in sight. However, little gestures such as this Argentinian team’s gesture to not play a friendly match against Israel in Jerusalem has to be one of the major ones.

The outrageous content of the book aside, that is not what we’re here to talk about today. We get it, the book is absurd to its very core.

However, we believe that the main reason that Reham Khan’s book reaching its popularity today is because of all the attention it is getting from the media of Pakistan. One of the reasons why this nation is where it is, is because the people of this nation DON’T READ BOOKS.

It doesn’t matter what she writes in her book, nobody would have known of its existence had it not been media to give her so much attention, which she clearly does not deserve.

Now that people know of it, out of all the absurdity, NOW people are willing to read it and waste their time. The media should act responsibly when it comes to national matters like this, and make sure it doesn’t give hype to insignificant stuff like Reham Khan’s books.

It is sad to know that the major problems and inclinations that the developed states have, and then compare them to all the problems Pakistan still has itself tangled up in in 2018, is simply disappointing.

Where is all the media when it comes to human rights? Is it really this short of a memory the media has? The so-called investigative journalism is not even doing half of its job to bring the perpetrator of Khadija Siddiqi to justice. Why is that? Is it because Shah Hussain is son of Tanvir Hashmi? Or is it because the media has a gold-fish memory? Or maybe it is the consumer of the media that has a gold-fish memory and forgets a critical matter in less than a week?

The media of Pakistan, has been more bold with time but it still needs to do a lot more and invest its energies in the right direction. Media has been called the 4th estate of the state, standing right next to Judiciary, Executive pillar and the Legislative pillar. With great power comes great responsibility, and Media should definitely not be investing the prime time on TV for something as insignificant as Reham Khan’s book.

I hope for one day, when the population of Pakistan would come out of such pity issues and realize the true problems of Pakistan. Not investing our energies in the right direction is one of the reasons why we are where we are, and this is certainly not the future we imagine for Pakistan. Like Jim Morrison famously said:

“Whoever controls the media, controls the mind.”

Shah Hussain was previously sentenced to 5 years in jail by session court on the charges for stabbing Khadija Siddiqi. He has been set free by Lahore High Court and have reversed the decision.

On last Friday Lahore High Court decided to listen to the appeal filed by the perpetrator asking the court to suspend the imprisonment and to spend the remaining sentence outside of the jail and not behind the bars.

Justice Sardar Naeem Ahmad was the judge who was hearing the appeal. Before this the session court the court had already reduced the sentence from 7 to 5 years.

The legal team which is head by Hassan Niazi has said that he would take this case to the Supreme Court and would make sure the justice is brought for Khadija Siddiqi.

“This decision was shattering for us. We are shell-shocked. We had prepared for a number of scenarios but at no point did we expect such an unreasonable ruling, and that too from the High Court” said Hassan Niazi.

“Even the convict’s side had not asked for such an acquittal because he has been proven guilty of stabbing her, and the only ‘evidence’ they presented was attacking Khadija’s character.”

“We had gone to the High Court hoping for an increased punishment. The maximum sentence for the crime is 10 years and we wanted the court to give us this, but instead they have gone a completely different direction” he added.

“We will not let this stop us, however, the conversation that Khadija has initiated is important and we will now go to the Supreme Court. We are trying for a Suo Motto otherwise we will take the matter to appeal.”

“All of us that have worked with Khadija in the past couple of years are young lawyers. This was greatly disheartening for us and we were all very disappointed, but the overwhelming support we have received since then has made us realise there is a lot more to fight for” said Hassan Niazi.

The rights activist aspired to contest from the constituencies in general election 2013 but could not win a seat.

However, he just broke the news about him filing nomination papers from the National Assembly constituency NA-247 which was previously NA-250, and provincial assembly constituency PS-11 which was earlier known as PS-113. He’s going to come up as an independent candidate for these constituencies.

“I am filing nomination papers for the national and provincial seats but will eventually contest from one seat when the campaign officially starts as per election schedule,” he said.

“Politics today has been restricted to personalities and cult following due to which public issues and ideological politics have taken a back seat. A glaring example is the fact that not only those who were elected MNA and MPA from my constituency but even the CM of this province has to order water tankers to meet requirements at their personal residence.

“Perhaps, because they are able to afford this expensive arrangement they have failed in the last five years to address the issue of scarcity of water which has now become a national emergency,” he added.

1. Young Leader

Unlike all the other politicians that we currently have in our country, Nasir is young and understands the needs of the present as well as the future. Those times are gone when aged people ruled the country. Let’s be serious, we have seen awful examples from our past. This 31 year old deserves a chance for his ideas.

“The youth of this country has the potential to change the political landscape of Pakistan and for that, we cannot afford to wait for opportunities. We need to believe in ourselves, take the initiative and create opportunities.” he said

2. Lawyer By Profession

Not only does he have an advantage over his age but he has an in-depth knowledge of rights and legal matters. He has also worked on the sensitive cases such as Mashal Khan, Shahzaib Murder Case, against the acquittal of Khadija Siddiqui case, and he is still pursuing an appeal against Abdul Aziz of the Lal Masjid.

3. He’s Contesting Independently

That means what? No driven by our current political party system but standing up for his own beliefs and fairplay. That’s a HUGE thing; Nasir doesn’t have a political association with any political party.

4. He Sees Violent Extremism a Major Threat Which Has Been Ignored By Others

“If the masses are subjected to power outages just because of the cash flow situation, then it would be seen as mala fide design of the caretaker regime, former finance minister Dr Mifta Ismail.

He added that the PML-N government has brought the circular dept to Rs.397 billion last month. In addition to that the EXX had also allowed the PHPL to bring about Rs.50 billion loan from the banks to push down the loan down to Rs.347 billion, because of which the government will not have to do load-shedding for the coming weeks in Pakistan.

By this strategy, if the policy makers are able to bring about the amount of Rs.50 billion in time for Eid ul Fitr, the current government would be able to reduce the circular dept to Rs.345 billion. Bringing down the circular dept would have many benefit for Pakistan, one of the major one is that the electric grid of Pakistan would be running smoothly.

Dr.Ismail claims that this dept was stopped at Rs.400 billion, but it would not bring about the crises in power sector. In case it further increases, then the power grid may start facing major problems.

He also mentioned that in the account of subsidy Rs15 billion is still present to be distributed in this financial year to relax the cash flow situation.

Dr.Ismail says that in the tenure of PML-N, there was no load shedding in Pakistan which was due to circular dept. And the government was successful in containing which could have become a major financial problem for Pakistan.

The Finance Ministry right now is in the process of finalizing the terms sheet with some Banks for more loan of Rs50 billion. This amount will be used to reduce the circular debt.

The officials have said that in normal cases, in the months of April, May, June and July, the money which is recovered of the amount of billed electricity remains excellent. But, this time in April and May, the money being billed from people of Pakistan was not as much as it usually is. It is expected that the recovery in the month of June and July would be up to the mark.
