Rawal Lake in Pakistan is an artificial reservoir that provides the water needs for the cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Korang River along with some other small streams coming from Margalla Hills have been set to form this artificial lake which covers an area of 8.8 km². Korang River is the outlet stream of Rawal Dam. Rawal Lake is located within an isolated section of the Village Malpur, Bani Gala and Margalla Hills National Park.

The proceedings took place with them shaking hands and came to negotiations to end this decades long nuclear conflict between both the states.

 

The venue for this meeting was in Singapore, both the leaders, Trump and Kim made their presence on global media present at the venue. Came together and shook hands in front of the media.

The purpose is to have detailed talks about ways to end the nuclear stand-off between both the states, and how they can come to a productive solution that is favor of both the states. Only a couple of months ago, both the leaders were exchanging harsh comments on each other. Within a few months, both the hostile leader changed their tone and are now coming under a single agreement which could end the risks of a potential nuclear war between both the states.

In President Trump’s tweets, he indicated that summit preparations were “going well and quickly”.

“We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen,” he tweeted.

Pointing at the recent release of three American hostages and Pyongyang´s pledge to refrain from further nuclear or missile tests, Trump charged that “these pundits, who have called me wrong from the beginning, have nothing else they can say!”

“We will be fine!” he tweeted.

Reuters, Russian Media TV said: “Trump and Kim were confident but body language revealed nerves at first meeting. In their first moments of meeting each other, US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un both sought to project a sense of command as they began a historic summit in Singapore, according to a body language expert.”

Managing Director of Singapore-headquartered Influence Solutions, said the first 60 seconds showed both leaders seeking to take charge in their encounter. These observations were taken after the close inspection of both the leader during the brief appearance on the International Media.

“Their handshake seems to be between peers,” she said.

“Trump seemed to be very aware of this, that he needed to up the stakes and be seen that he is the leader.”

All the leaders of the political parties are contesting for Karachi.

So far the Election Commission of Pakistan has not submitted any report of the current list of names of the candidates which was supposed to be submitted on the same day.

Provincial election commissioner Yousaf Khattak said that by June 10, 36 forms for the reserved seats for women in the National Assembly, 124 for the same in the Sindh Assembly and 73 for the reserved seats for minorities in both the assemblies were submitted to ECP.

Towards the end of the submission, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, All Pakistan Muslim League chief General (retd) Pervez Musharraf were few of the names in the ones filing for election.

 

Shahbaz Sharif has submitted his form for three NA constituencies: NA-248 (West-I), NA-249 (West-II) and NA-250 (West-III). Musharraf will contest the elections from the NA-247 (South-II).

 

According to the reports from the ECP, the scrutiny of the papers of the nominations will start today (12th June) and will end on the 19th June.

The last date to move the appellate tribunal is June 27. The revised list will be issued on June 28. The last date for withdrawal of the nomination is June 29. The election symbols will be allotted on June 30.

These so-called heavyweight matches are will be the talk of the town for very long consisting the NA-247 constituency which covers areas such as Burns Road, Saddar, Civil Lines and Clifton, is considered to be a witness to a heavyweight match.

Musharraf, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) PIB Colony faction chief Farooq Sattar, the MQM-P Bahadurabad group’s Nasreen Jalil, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Arif Alvi, Pak Sarzameen Party chief Mustafa Kamal, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and social activist Jibran Nasir are contesting for the constituency.

Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has submitted his form for contesting for the NA-246 (South-I) constituency, which covers his party’s strongholds of Lyari and Garden.

PTI chief Imran Khan has submitted his form for contesting for the NA-243 (East-II) constituency, which covers Gulshan-e-Iqbal and some parts of Jamshed Quarters.

Khadija Siddiqui, a 21-year-old law student in Lahore, was savagely stabbed 23 times in broad daylight on a busy road in May 2016. The attacker, Shah Hussain, was found guilty in 2017, and was served a seven-year sentence on July 29, 2017, for attempted murder, but he was subsequently acquitted by Lahore’s High Court on June 4, 2018, by Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem, in a session only fifteen minutes long.

 

In this video, not once did he say that he DID NOT stab Khadija, He is just trying to convince the media that Khadija was desperate to marry him. He also claimed that he was pressurized to do so by the families involved. In this desperate attempt, he wanted media to give his point of view as well to the viewers as well. He claims that there is a propaganda against him created by Khadija Siddiqi as he rejected her proposal.

A resident from Skardu, Shabbir Hussain made a video some time back, where he expressed that he dropped his bag on karakoram highway which carried important documents. According to the recent news, his bag was found and delivered on Sunday.

In a video shared on social media, Shabbir Hussain pledged the social media users of Pakistan to find his lost bag. “I was coming to Skardu from Islamabad yesterday and near Chillas I lost my bag,” he said, adding that his educational documents and medical record of his father who is being treated for the brain tumor are in that bag.

“Without those documents and medical records, his treatment will be stopped,” he added.

“I request all the social media users and my fellow citizens to help me in finding that bag as it has my number on it and anyone who finds it can contact me or send the bag to some goods transport office,” he said. “I will be really thankful,” said in very emotional state with tears in his eyes.

 

The video went viral on social media, reaching out to many public figures. DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor requested all the Pakistani people to help. and tweeted: “Request, please help our this Pakistani brother… And dear Shabbir if u see this tweet please share your cell number through my inbox for assistance at CMH.”

This tweet had over 4000 retweets on Twitter.

After some time the DG ISPR tweeted that bag has been found and delivered to Shabbir Hussain.  “Thanks to all Pakistanis including Media for the prompt response. Bag found. Being delivered. That’s being a great and responsible nation. And all assistance in CMH made available to Shabbir. PakistanZindaAbad.”

 

In another tweet, Ghafoor wrote, “Yes, this is the power of Media and social media. That’s the correct, responsible and purposeful utility. That’s the requirement. Let’s utilise it positively for a well aware and strong Pakistan. Thank you.”

Times like these you feel proud of being a Pakistani citizen, for being a part of a nation that feels this strongly for one another. That’s the correct, responsible and purposeful utility.

We don’t expect harm to come our way because we feel safe and protected, especially in familiar surroundings and in our daily routine. However, this is not the case for Khadija Siddiqi. I went to school with Khadija, and both her older sister and her cousin were in my class. So I knew her family and we had many interactions. She is a very hard working girl, and has so much to offer in terms of knowledge and kindness. But her life was almost cut short due to the twisted mindset and actions of Shah Hussain, the son of a big, wealthy lawyer in Pakistan.

Having turned down advances from Shah Hussain, a classmate of hers at her college, she thought that would be the end of it but she didn’t know that it would change her life forever. While picking up her younger sister from school, Shah Hussain showed up and began to attack and brutally stab khadija 23 times, while also inflicting stab wounds on her younger sister who was trying to shield her from him. This happened in broad daylight in front of many witnesses.

Despite that, a long two year legal battle, and an even more painful recovery process for khadija, Shah Hussain’s sentence was reduced from seven years to five years, and now he is fully acquitted from serving any jail time as his father has most definitely paid off the judge to let him off the hook. Where is the justice in this? Where is the justice in the judge telling Khadija to shake hands with her almost murderer and telling her to forgive him and try to be friends with him.

If it was the other way around and Khadija had the money and the boy was from a poor family, would he have been sentenced to the full ten year sentence? The Pakistani justice system is so flawed. It’s not run by people who are interested in right or wrong, and enforcing the law. It is run by money.

I stand for justice for Khadija. Shah Hussain should be put behind bars. There is a difference between someone harming another for the sake of harming them, and between someone harming another to kill. He is a murderer and should not be allowed to walk the streets free from consequences.

Hugo Moyano (AFA 2nd Vice President) : “It’s good that Argentina’s game with Israel has been suspended. It has been done right, it was not worth it. What happens in those places, where so many people are killed, as a human being can not be accepted. Player’s families suffered from the threats.”

The striker Gonzalo Higuain has confirmed that the warm-up match has been cancelled with Israel. This was a political gesture shown by the players of Argantina in their capacity for the people of Gaza and for the love of humanity.

There has been no initial response from FA at the moment, however there are reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had called Argentinian President Mauricio Macri to ask him to persuade the team not to cancel their visit to Jerusalem.

The visit of twice world champions Argentina has attracted huge interest among Israeli fans, mainly because of Barcelona FC player Lionel Messi’s planned his participation.

 

Palestinian people celebrated the cancellation of this match. In Gaza, people cheered and in Ramallah in the West Bank, the Palestinian FA issued a statement thanking Messi and his colleagues for cancelling the game. There is gratitude from all over the Muslims of the world.

 

Argentinian football team summoned more courage for Palestine than the so-called leaders of Islamic world. The south American football team which is famous all over the world has demonstrated their love for humanity, while the leaders of the Arab world are having secret diplomacy with the Jewish state. This is sad and hopeful at the same time. Since the decision President Donald Trump took for move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, hundreds of people have been killed, and thousands injured by the border conflicts between the Jewish forces and Muslims fighting for their rights on the Gaza belt. This ongoing conflict has a history of several decades, and no end in sight. However, little gestures such as this Argentinian team’s gesture to not play a friendly match against Israel in Jerusalem has to be one of the major ones.

The outrageous content of the book aside, that is not what we’re here to talk about today. We get it, the book is absurd to its very core.

However, we believe that the main reason that Reham Khan’s book reaching its popularity today is because of all the attention it is getting from the media of Pakistan. One of the reasons why this nation is where it is, is because the people of this nation DON’T READ BOOKS.

It doesn’t matter what she writes in her book, nobody would have known of its existence had it not been media to give her so much attention, which she clearly does not deserve.

 

Now that people know of it, out of all the absurdity, NOW people are willing to read it and waste their time. The media should act responsibly when it comes to national matters like this, and make sure it doesn’t give hype to insignificant stuff like Reham Khan’s books.

 

It is sad to know that the major problems and inclinations that the developed states have, and then compare them to all the problems Pakistan still has itself tangled up in in 2018, is simply disappointing.

 

Where is all the media when it comes to human rights? Is it really this short of a memory the media has? The so-called investigative journalism is not even doing half of its job to bring the perpetrator of Khadija Siddiqi to justice. Why is that? Is it because Shah Hussain is son of Tanvir Hashmi? Or is it because the media has a gold-fish memory? Or maybe it is the consumer of the media that has a gold-fish memory and forgets a critical matter in less than a week?

The media of Pakistan, has been more bold with time but it still needs to do a lot more and invest its energies in the right direction. Media has been called the 4th estate of the state, standing right next to Judiciary, Executive pillar and the Legislative pillar. With great power comes great responsibility, and Media should definitely not be investing the prime time on TV for something as insignificant as Reham Khan’s book.

I hope for one day, when the population of Pakistan would come out of such pity issues and realize the true problems of Pakistan. Not investing our energies in the right direction is one of the reasons why we are where we are, and this is certainly not the future we imagine for Pakistan. Like Jim Morrison famously said:

“Whoever controls the media, controls the mind.”
