The striker Gonzalo Higuain has confirmed that the warm-up match has been cancelled with Israel. This was a political gesture shown by the players of Argantina in their capacity for the people of Gaza and for the love of humanity.

There has been no initial response from FA at the moment, however there are reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had called Argentinian President Mauricio Macri to ask him to persuade the team not to cancel their visit to Jerusalem.

The visit of twice world champions Argentina has attracted huge interest among Israeli fans, mainly because of Barcelona FC player Lionel Messi’s planned his participation.

Palestinian people celebrated the cancellation of this match. In Gaza, people cheered and in Ramallah in the West Bank, the Palestinian FA issued a statement thanking Messi and his colleagues for cancelling the game. There is gratitude from all over the Muslims of the world.

Argentinian football team summoned more courage for Palestine than the so-called leaders of Islamic world. The south American football team which is famous all over the world has demonstrated their love for humanity, while the leaders of the Arab world are having secret diplomacy with the Jewish state. This is sad and hopeful at the same time. Since the decision President Donald Trump took for move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, hundreds of people have been killed, and thousands injured by the border conflicts between the Jewish forces and Muslims fighting for their rights on the Gaza belt. This ongoing conflict has a history of several decades, and no end in sight. However, little gestures such as this Argentinian team’s gesture to not play a friendly match against Israel in Jerusalem has to be one of the major ones.

The outrageous content of the book aside, that is not what we’re here to talk about today. We get it, the book is absurd to its very core.

However, we believe that the main reason that Reham Khan’s book reaching its popularity today is because of all the attention it is getting from the media of Pakistan. One of the reasons why this nation is where it is, is because the people of this nation DON’T READ BOOKS.

It doesn’t matter what she writes in her book, nobody would have known of its existence had it not been media to give her so much attention, which she clearly does not deserve.

Now that people know of it, out of all the absurdity, NOW people are willing to read it and waste their time. The media should act responsibly when it comes to national matters like this, and make sure it doesn’t give hype to insignificant stuff like Reham Khan’s books.

It is sad to know that the major problems and inclinations that the developed states have, and then compare them to all the problems Pakistan still has itself tangled up in in 2018, is simply disappointing.

Where is all the media when it comes to human rights? Is it really this short of a memory the media has? The so-called investigative journalism is not even doing half of its job to bring the perpetrator of Khadija Siddiqi to justice. Why is that? Is it because Shah Hussain is son of Tanvir Hashmi? Or is it because the media has a gold-fish memory? Or maybe it is the consumer of the media that has a gold-fish memory and forgets a critical matter in less than a week?

The media of Pakistan, has been more bold with time but it still needs to do a lot more and invest its energies in the right direction. Media has been called the 4th estate of the state, standing right next to Judiciary, Executive pillar and the Legislative pillar. With great power comes great responsibility, and Media should definitely not be investing the prime time on TV for something as insignificant as Reham Khan’s book.

I hope for one day, when the population of Pakistan would come out of such pity issues and realize the true problems of Pakistan. Not investing our energies in the right direction is one of the reasons why we are where we are, and this is certainly not the future we imagine for Pakistan. Like Jim Morrison famously said:

“Whoever controls the media, controls the mind.”

Shah Hussain was previously sentenced to 5 years in jail by session court on the charges for stabbing Khadija Siddiqi. He has been set free by Lahore High Court and have reversed the decision.

On last Friday Lahore High Court decided to listen to the appeal filed by the perpetrator asking the court to suspend the imprisonment and to spend the remaining sentence outside of the jail and not behind the bars.

Justice Sardar Naeem Ahmad was the judge who was hearing the appeal. Before this the session court the court had already reduced the sentence from 7 to 5 years.

The legal team which is head by Hassan Niazi has said that he would take this case to the Supreme Court and would make sure the justice is brought for Khadija Siddiqi.

“This decision was shattering for us. We are shell-shocked. We had prepared for a number of scenarios but at no point did we expect such an unreasonable ruling, and that too from the High Court” said Hassan Niazi.

“Even the convict’s side had not asked for such an acquittal because he has been proven guilty of stabbing her, and the only ‘evidence’ they presented was attacking Khadija’s character.”

“We had gone to the High Court hoping for an increased punishment. The maximum sentence for the crime is 10 years and we wanted the court to give us this, but instead they have gone a completely different direction” he added.

“We will not let this stop us, however, the conversation that Khadija has initiated is important and we will now go to the Supreme Court. We are trying for a Suo Motto otherwise we will take the matter to appeal.”

“All of us that have worked with Khadija in the past couple of years are young lawyers. This was greatly disheartening for us and we were all very disappointed, but the overwhelming support we have received since then has made us realise there is a lot more to fight for” said Hassan Niazi.

“If the masses are subjected to power outages just because of the cash flow situation, then it would be seen as mala fide design of the caretaker regime, former finance minister Dr Mifta Ismail.

He added that the PML-N government has brought the circular dept to Rs.397 billion last month. In addition to that the EXX had also allowed the PHPL to bring about Rs.50 billion loan from the banks to push down the loan down to Rs.347 billion, because of which the government will not have to do load-shedding for the coming weeks in Pakistan.

By this strategy, if the policy makers are able to bring about the amount of Rs.50 billion in time for Eid ul Fitr, the current government would be able to reduce the circular dept to Rs.345 billion. Bringing down the circular dept would have many benefit for Pakistan, one of the major one is that the electric grid of Pakistan would be running smoothly.

Dr.Ismail claims that this dept was stopped at Rs.400 billion, but it would not bring about the crises in power sector. In case it further increases, then the power grid may start facing major problems.

He also mentioned that in the account of subsidy Rs15 billion is still present to be distributed in this financial year to relax the cash flow situation.

Dr.Ismail says that in the tenure of PML-N, there was no load shedding in Pakistan which was due to circular dept. And the government was successful in containing which could have become a major financial problem for Pakistan.

The Finance Ministry right now is in the process of finalizing the terms sheet with some Banks for more loan of Rs50 billion. This amount will be used to reduce the circular debt.

The officials have said that in normal cases, in the months of April, May, June and July, the money which is recovered of the amount of billed electricity remains excellent. But, this time in April and May, the money being billed from people of Pakistan was not as much as it usually is. It is expected that the recovery in the month of June and July would be up to the mark.

According to the media reports President Donald Trump would host the Iftar dinner on Wednesday, and the guest list is yet to be disclosed.

Prahalad has been providing his services since the beginning of Ramadan and says that he has given his services to many muslims during this time.

“Once i refused to take money from them, they say that they will pray for me. That brings peace to my heart,” he said.

He is often spotted around the Green Park metro station in New Delhi.

Since the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the office, there has been a wave of intolerance between the Muslims and Hindu communities. There have been raids and lynching on Muslims to a great extent. The minorities of different backgrounds have been targeted by Hindu extremists.

Incidents of Hindu vigilantes torturing people belonging to Muslim and Dalit communities have been on the rise during the last few years.

The  auto-rickshaw driver has been commended  on social media for setting a good example. He has been trending all over Pakistan and India at the moment and the educated people with the sense of tolerance for other religions have been applauding his efforts.

This world is full of people with different opinions, backgrounds and religions. It is mandatory to educate people on the sense of pluralism and to spread love and harmony to the people around us. No religion teaches to hate, we must always keep our muslim and non-muslim brothers and sisters safe, it is out moral obligation to make sure our people live a comfortable life. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) treated even the non-muslims of Makkah and Madina with great love and compassion, and without a doubt that is the model we must all follow as well.

The motorbike rider’s name was Altaf Hussain and was a 35 year old. He stopped at a mosque for Asr prayers and parked his bike near a mosque. A shopkeeper objected to the car being parked in front of his shop and the argument in the publec got violent when the shopkeeper shot Altaf Hussain dead right on that spot. By the time Law enforcement got to the spot, the victim was already dead.

This is the third murder that is being reported from the area in less than 2 days. On Wednesday, same week, Khanna police found the body of a 17 year old boy Zeeshan who was kidnapped in Sadiqbad area. He was kidnapped and murdered near Dhok Kala Khan, and was later dumped in a well.

Another case was reported in Sadiqabad Police station when a teenager was missing a few days ago, same week. There is still no clarity on what happened to the poor soul. Some say that he was kidnapped for a ransom, others say he was killed by a friend of his after they two had a fight about something.

The local police claim that they have arrested the suspect who had confessed to stabbing the victim to death and later dumping his body in a well.

Also on Wednesday evening, a man was killed while four others were injured in a clash between two groups in Bilal Town, almost in the same area. Police claims that a fight among the youngsters accelerated, which led to firing between the two groups. The death of Rashid Khan, the victim at the incident happened to be the unlucky one there. The Police has arrested two people allegedly involved in the murder. There is no clear picture of what will happen to them at the moment.

These incidents near Khana Pul have increased to an insane extent, is this a proof of a larger mafia behind the picture? Or are people just intolerant and frustrated? May God bless us all, and keep us safe.

According to Pakistan Meterological Department, the temperature of Karachi is to rise even more in coming days.

“Heat is concentrated at Karachi at the moment, and today the mercury soared to 44°C, but we are expecting it to hit 45°C during the next three days, as sea breeze is completely cut off due to small low pressure areas in the Arabian Sea,” PMD Director General Dr Ghulam Rasool.

This is the third heatwave in Karachi of 2018, and the second time this month when the temperature reached 44°C. Previously, on May 3, the metropolis had claimed similar hot and dry conditions due to suspension of sea breeze that keeps the city’s weather moderate and pleasant despite intense climate in the country’s plain areas.

Office chief said the temperature of the Arabian Sea is on the rise due to climate change, and due to this, formation of low pressure areas have increased in the sea, which change the wind direction which affects greatly in the climate change of Pakistan.

The Officer chief also claimed that these low pressure areas are the cause of the cutting off of sea breeze towards the metropolis and the blowing of the north-westerly winds, which are warm and dry, and turn the city into a hot oven.

“In addition to small low pressure areas in the Arabian Sea, there is another tropical cyclone brewing in the sea after Cyclone Sagar, which met its fate in the Gulf of Aden,” said Dr Rasool.

“We are keeping a close eye on the situation of cyclones in the Arabian Sea, and will let people know if it is worth reporting,” he said, also saying that Karachi will have to face more of the hotter days in June.

“The next three days are very crucial for Karachi, as the temperature can reach 45°C at any time,” said the Office chief, and urged people to take precautionary measures. He advised them not to venture out during the day, wear light-coloured clothes and drink plenty of water during Sehar and Iftar timings to prevent dehydration.
