Taking care of your skin is a hard, time-consuming job, and not all of us have spare hours to spend on wearing masks, applying cleansers, and lotions in order to have a smooth-looking skin. So I combined a list of 3 things you MUST do even if you don’t have the patience for skincare and makeup.

The key is to keep things simple and stick to the basics.

1. Always moisturize your face:

This is a must for a soft, supple, comfortable, and attractive skin. Don’t ever forget to moisturize your face every time you wash it. It keeps your skin hydrated and helps keep it looking healthy and radiant.

People with oily skin tend not to moisturize as there is already very sticky which is a HUGE mistake.

This is one step you must never skip even if you don’t have a proper skincare routine.

Another mistake people make is slathering body lotion on their face.

Don’t just put any lotion you come across on your face. Body lotions tend to be thicker and contain fragrances that might irritate your skin. Choosing the right moisturizer for you is important.

When buying a moisturizer, make sure that it suits your skin type (dry/oily/sensitive) and it’s non-comedogenic i.e. it won’t clog your pores.

Neutrogena and Physiogel have some decent moisturizers one might want to check out.

2. Wear sunscreen even if you don’t go out in the sun much:

I cannot stress enough on how important it is to wear sunscreen EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even if you will be stepping out in the sun for only a few minutes, it’s essential that you wear sunscreen.

It’s the easiest and effective way to prevent uneven skin tone, dark spots and well, skin cancer.

While applying sunblock, a few parts aren’t going to cut it. Make sure to apply enough that your whole face is protected. Moreover, just slathering the product on you in the morning is not enough. You will have to reapply it throughout the day to protect yourself from the UV rays of the sun.

I personally like SunTex SPF 60 sunblock because it doesn’t create white patches on your face or make it oily.

3. Always wash your face at night:

Cleaning your face at night to get rid of any dirt or oil on your face is key. If you wear makeup during the day, make sure to remove it all before hitting the bed. While over-washing leads to irritation and breakouts, one must cleanse their face in the morning and at night.

For days when you are feeling extra lazy and don’t have any energy to wash your face, Garnier’s or Bioderma’s Micellar Water is your best friend!

Just pour some of the product on a cotton pad, wipe it across your face and you’re sorted! No need to rinse it.
